News Death Notice

CRANE, Michael James was born on June 14, 1981 and went home to be with the Lord on Monday, March 31, 2014. He was a product of Dayton Public Schools and was employed by BD's Mongolian Grill (The Greene Town Center). Michael accepted Christ at the age of eight and was a member of Omega Baptist Church. He loved his family and had a passion for helping everyone he came into contact with. He was affectionately known as "The Street Preacher" and took advantage of every opportunity to share the gospel because he wanted everyone to be saved. He loved to cook and enjoyed his job, where he could do both; cook and sing about the goodness of God. Michael was preceded in death by his great-grandfather, Elijah B. Crane and his grandmother, Mary Crane. He leaves to cherish his memory; his devoted mother, Shelia Crane; brothers, Tyler of Dayton and William, US Army, Ft. Riley, KS; aunts and uncles, Jerry (Marlene), Darryl and Shellie Crane, all of Dayton; Sharon McAtee of El Paso, TX; Jeffrey (Shirley) of Fairmont, WV; Todd (Pat) of Plainville, IN; Sheryl (Clifford) Caver of Westland, MI and Darrin Crane of Columbus, GA; special cousin Terry Kilgore; best friend, Eric "E-Dub", and a host of other cousins, relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M., FRIDAY, April 11, 2014 at OMEGA BAPTIST CHURCH, 1821 Emerson Ave. Reverend Dr. Daryl Ward, Pastor, with Reverend Arnita Peavy, officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service. Final disposition: Cremation.
