News Death Notice

LaFALCE, Mary 79, of Dayton, passed away April 30. Born in Detroit, Michigan, on March 15, 1935, to the late Frank and Antonia LaFalce, Mary was preceded in death by her sister, Gaitanina LaFalce. She is survived by her sister, Vincenzina Krymow; brother -in-law, George Krymow; nephew Bruce Krymow, his wife LeeAnn and their daughter Alexis Isabella; nephew Kelly Krymow and his son, Jacob. In 1988 Mary moved to Dayton to be with her sister, Vincenzina. A few years later she joined the Resident Home Association of Dayton, where the residents and staff were her "family." Mary was always cheerful, and brightened the lives of those around her. In December, 2001, she retired from Courtyard by Marriott where she had been employed for many years. She was creative and loved embroidery and art. She won an award for her painting at the Partners for Community Living and Toward Independence Art & Soul Exhibit. She loved music and enjoyed attending the opera with her family. She was a long-time member of the Faith and Light group at St. Charles Parish. She was a volunteer at the University of Dayton's Marian Library. She loved to travel, visiting relatives in Italy, Arizona and Michigan. She participated in many activities and social events in her community and enjoyed attending Dayton Opera performances. Mary was a practicing Catholic, had been a member of Queen of Apostles Parish, St. Leonard Faith Community and more recently Precious Blood Parish. Mary was an inspiration to all of us! Family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 3 at St. Leonard Faith Community Chapel in Centerville.
