News Death Notice

RIKE, Jerry R. age 70, of Englewood, formerly of Arcanum, passed away Monday, May 5, 2014, at Hospice of Dayton with his family by his side. Jerry was born April 16, 1944, in Greenville, Ohio to the late Virgil "Pete" Rike and Sylvia (Minnich) Rike. He was a retired truck driver with many years of service and a U.S. Air Force veteran; a member of the Greenville American Legion Post #140, Lifetime Member of the Greenville VFW Post #7262. A former member of Greenville Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite Valley of Dayton and Antioch Shrine Center in Dayton Jerry was an avid sports enthusiast especially NASCAR, Cincinnati Reds and Michigan football. Also preceding him in death a son, Stuart (Rike) Popp. He is survived by his sister Carolyn (Jim) Fourman of Lewisburg, twin brother Larry (Betty) of Lewisburg, brother Galen of New Paris, nieces Monica (Fourman), Matthew and Lucy Liberatore of PA, Julie Fourman of SC, nephew Randy Rike, many cousins and friends, and his Special Friend Gail Olack. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, May 10, at the Kreitzer Funeral Home, Arcanum with the Rev Verl Light officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, West Alexandria. The family will receive relatives and friends from 5 - 8 pm Friday, at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton.
