JONES, William Clinton "Bill" Age 95 of Miami Township passed away Tuesday, May 27, 2014 at Hospice of Dayton. He was born August 7, 1918 in Wilkesboro, NC to the late William J. and Mollie A. (Davis) Jones. In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Margaret Ethel (Gay) Jones in 2003; a grandson, Brian Kelly; siblings, Albert Jones, Claude Jones, Nina Greco and Pansey Laney and his step-father, W.E. Minton. He is survived by his children, Jim (Sandy) Jones of Miamisburg and Billy (Gerry) Philhower of Washington Township; grandchildren, Patrick (Ronda) Jones of Columbus, Kirk Jones of Miamisburg, David (Tawana) Schmaus of Kettering, Lisa Neal of Centerville, Stacey (Chad) Sanders of South Carolina; great grandchildren, Tyler, Seth, Austin, Reagan, Alex, Lauren, Ryan and Kinley; sisters-in-law, Elise Callahan of West Milton and Martha Gay of Kentucky as well as many other extended family and friends. Bill was a 1938 graduate of Kings Creek High School in NC. He served as a Staff Sergeant for the 1st Radio Squadron of the Army Air Corps during WWII and was awarded 3 Bronze Stars. Bill retired from Specialty Papers as a press room superintendent after a long career and was a member of the Masons. Bill was a devoted and loving husband and father who enjoyed a variety of activities with his family and loved living the "simple" life. One of his most recent accomplishments was his participation in the Honor Flight to Washington DC during the dedication of the National WWII Memorial. Family will receive friends from 10:00 - 11:30 AM Monday, June 2, 2014 at Gebhart - Schmidt - Parramore Funeral Home, Miamisburg. Funeral services will follow at 11:30 AM Monday also at the funeral home and officiated by Pastor Deb Holder. Burial will take place at Miami Valley Memory Gardens, Centerville with military honors. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton at 324 Wilmington Ave., Dayton, OH 45420.
