News Death Notice

BREWSTER, Fannie R. age 86, of Dayton, was granted her angel wings June 4, 2014 at Good Samaritan Hospital. Born May 10, 1928 in Newnan, GA to the late Henry and Sallie Maddox and a resident of Dayton since 1945. She was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church and retired from the Dayton Board of Education after 20 years of service. Preceded in death by her husband, Joe Brewster and son, Darnell Brewster (New York, NY). She leaves to mourn, her devoted children, Adena Jefferson, Jo Ann Dunn, Fanella Orr (David M.), Dayton and Daniel J. Brewster Sr., Atlanta, GA (Rhonda Byrd, Dayton); sister, Genell Geter, Newnan, GA; devoted grandchildren, Daryl L. Terry Sr. (Kimberly), Dayton, DeJeune D. Fox, St. Louis, MO, Daniel J. Brewster Jr., Atlanta, GA, Derrick Brewster, Houston, TX, Angela Dunn-Lindsey and Makayla Smith, Atlanta, GA; devoted sisters-in-law, Rowena and Louvenia Maddox, Margaret Levell, Dayton, and Lula Mae Brewster, Minneapolis, MN; devoted Goddaughters, Joyce Chavers and Annie Savage, Dayton; devoted friend, Shevel Hinton, Dayton; 6 great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral service will be held 12 noon Tuesday, June 10, 2014 at Shiloh Baptist Church, 3801 Fairbanks Ave. Rev. Ronald Clark officiating, Rev. Dr. David I. Fox, eulogist. Interment West Memory Gardens. Visitation from 10 am-12 noon. Family will receive friends from 11 am-12 noon. Arrangements entrusted to the House of Wheat Funeral Home, Inc., 2107 N.
