John Field McCALLUM

Obituary Condolences

News Death Notice

McCALLUM, John Field 65, died on June 10, 2014. He was born in Chicago, IL on December 27, 1948. A longtime resident of Dayton, OH, he recently moved to Indianapolis in 2013 to be closer to family. After a successful career in Sales, focused on computers and technology, he retired in 2013. He graduated from the University of Illinois with a bachelor's degree in T.V. and Journalism, and served in the U.S. Navy for 4 years. He enjoyed an active lifestyle, playing racquetball for over 40 years, and ran his first half-marathon at the age of 64. John was a devoutly dedicated blood donor for over 20 years, as he possessed an uncommon blood type that could be used, among other things, to support the needs of premature babies. Surviving in Indianapolis are his son, Nick, his daughter-in-law, Crystal, his grandson, Connor, and in Dayton, OH, his ex-wife, Pam. Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 21 from 2:00 - 4:00 pm at Feeney-Hornak Keystone Chapel, 2126 E. 71st Street, Indianapolis, IN, followed by a Funeral Service at 4:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Indiana Blood Center. Memorial tributes may be offered at www.feeneyhornakkeystone.com
