News Death Notice

WHIDDON, Lois Vivian (Lynn) age 83, cherished Mother, Sister, Aunt, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, and Friend passed away quietly with family on Wednesday, June 25, 2014. She was born on November 13, 1930 in Akron, Colorado, the daughter of Perry A. Lynn Sr. and Laura Velma Horton. She was a high school graduate having attended both Roosevelt and Jefferson High Schools and retired from Ohio Bell in 1982 after 34 years of service. With a great sense of humor, she enjoyed being a pilot, swimmer, water skier, Red Hatter, TOPS, bicyclist, and lifetime auxiliary member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars-Post 3438. Survived by her daughter, Lisa (Koenig) Boydston and husband, Dale, step-son, Gary (Cindi) Whiddon, step-daughter, Debbie (Mark) Mason, sister, Norma J. Cook, brother, Perry A. Lynn, Jr., and special friends, Jack Kemper, Janet Michaelis and Beverly Carles. She had numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, Lowell T. Whiddon, Donald J. Koenig, her step-daughter, Nancy Sanders, step-sons, Thomas R. Whiddon, James H. Whiddon, and grandsons, Chris Mason and Robert Sanders. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 28, 2014, at the TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME-BEAVERCREEK CHAPEL, 3970 Dayton-Xenia Road at Grange Hall Road with Pastor Bill DePoyster officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, June 27, 2014. Special thanks to Sycamore Glen Retirement Community where she lived the past 6 years. Hospice of Dayton who was by our side during this transition. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Hospice of Dayton or The of the Miami Valley.
