BOWSER, Rita Wanameta (Harris) age 72 of Urbana, Ohio passed away Friday, July 18, 2014 at Springfield Regional Medical Center. She was a native of Piqua, Ohio and had resided in Urbana for a number of years. Rita was a graduate of Piqua Central High School and she attended Central State University. She worked as an educator and held other duties for several community & public agencies. She retired from the DP&L Co., after 24 years of service. Rita was a member of the Cyrene AME Church as well as with the St. James Episcopal Church. She was also active in the church that was near and dear to her heart Greater Allen AME Church. Rita was an active member of Harmony Chapter No. 26, Order of the Eastern Star as well as a member of Miami Assembly No. 22, Order of the Golden Circle, Prince Hall Affiliation. She was preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include her loving husband, Richard L. Bowser, Sr., her children, Michael E., and Eric D. Harris and Cheryl D. (Harris) Manoly, all residing in California. Two step-children; LaMara A. McKnight & Richard L. Bowser, Jr., both of Georgia, one grandson, Kamen M. Harris; two step- grandsons, Miguel Cortez, Jr., (Shantell) and Albert Hernandez (Melanie) also of California. She also leaves behind a grand dog, "Bernie", and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 26, 2014, 11:00 a.m., at Greater Allen AME Church, 1620 West 5th St., Reverend Dr. Earl G. Harris officiating. Visitation Friday, July 25, 2014 at the LORITTS-NEILSON FUNERAL HOME, INC. 3924 W. 3rd St., from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm. The family will receive relatives & friends beginning at 6:00 pm. O.E.S., Memorial Service beginning at 7:00 pm. Interment Oakdale Cemetery, Urbana, Ohio. www.loritts-neilson.com
