KNOEPFLE, William J. "Bill" 75, of Butler Twp., passed away unexpectedly, Wednesday, July 23, 2014, after a brief illness. He was born June 18, 1939 in Dayton, Ohio to William & Ruth (Sakalauskas) Knoepfle. After graduating from Chaminade High School, Bill enlisted in the U.S. Navy, serving aboard the USS Princeton & USS Hancock. Following his naval career, he continued his education at the University of Dayton, followed by 37 years with the Chrysler Corp. Bill enjoyed the good life after retirement, traveling, part-time jobs with buddies at the Dayton Auto Auction and the gals at Get Dressed Boutique. Bill, along with his wife Ann, and daughter Tracey, have owned Get Dressed in Oakwood for the past 23 years. A true patriot who loved his country, Bills' most favorite moments were spent with family and friends. Survived by his beloved wife of 32 years, Ann; daughters, Kristin Meibers (Mark), Tracey Schumann; son, Nicholas Knoepfle (Melissa); grandchildren, Madaline, Alexander & William; sisters, Ruth Knoepfle, Joyce Lay (Gary), Patty Littrell (Barry); brothers, Thomas Knoepfle (Carolyn) & Raymond Knoepfle (Susie); numerous nieces, nephews and many many friends. Private memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family. Inurnment Calvary Cemetery. The family will receive friends 3-7 p.m. Sunday, July 27, at the Patterson Homestead, 1815 Brown St., Dayton, OH 45409 to celebrate his life.
