AHRENDT, Bernice Bernadine Wiessinger "Bea" age 92, was born July 28, 1922 to John and Sarah (Langebrake) Wiessinger in Anna, Ohio. She passed away at home on July 31, 2014. After graduating from Anna High School in 1940 she joined her sister, Nelda in Dayton to work at NCR. A War Bride, she married Carl Frederick "Fred" Ahrendt on March 25, 1944. After Fred's return at the end of WWII, they settled near Dayton and raised 4 children in Beavercreek. Bea and Fred were married for 35 years until his death in 1980. After the birth of her last child, Ms. Ahrendt returned to school, graduating from the Dayton School of Practical Nursing in 1963. She worked as a private duty nurse for many years and ran the Licensed Practical Nurse Registry from home, assisting LPNs from across the region to find jobs in their field. Bea was very active in the Licensed Practical Nursing Association of Ohio serving in many leadership capacities. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased in death by brothers Loyd Wiessinger and Roger Wiessinger, sister, Nelda "Nelly" Wiessinger, eldest son, Carl Frederick "Fritz" Ahrendt Jr. and special friend, Clark Kempfer. She is survived by children, Colleen (Dwight) Brannon of Centerville, Kurt (Anne) Ahrendt of Wakulla Springs, Florida, Lora (Jim Aracri) Froning of Beavercreek; sisters, Minerva W. Houck of Baltimore, Maryland, and Anne W. Chickerella of Columbus, Ohio, Brother-in-Law, William (Pauline) Ahrendt of Beavercreek, Ohio, Sister in Law, Eleanor Ahrendt of Grand Rapids, Michigan; 7 grandchildren, Douglas (Rachel) Brannon and David (Jill) Brannon of Centerville, Todd (Camie) Brannon of Peoria, Illinois, Tai (Tom) Munley of Boca Raton, Florida; John Ahrendt of Wakulla Springs, Florida; and Nicholas (Jessica) Froning of Franklin and Brittany Froning of Beavercreek. She is also survived by 9 great-grandchildren, a special friend, Doris Kile, beloved nieces and nephews and a host of cousins. She devoted her life to caring for people-her patients, her family and especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. A member of Peace Lutheran Church, she enjoyed activities with the Peacemakers group. Funeral services will be held at 12 pm on Saturday, August 2, 2014 at the TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME - BEAVERCREEK CHAPEL, 3970 Dayton-Xenia at Grange Hall Rd. with Pastor Bob Brown officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Zion Shoup Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends at the funeral home from 11 am until the time of services on Saturday.
