TURNER, Burnam "Bud" age 79, born in Jackson, KY, passed away on Saturday, August 2, 2014 in Kissimmee, FL. He is preceded in death by his son, Stephan R. Turner. Burnam is survived by his wife of 60 years, Dorothy Turner; children, Paul (Janis) Turner, Cecelia (John) Nunner, and Berna (Danny) Jones; 9 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; siblings, Jean (Bob) Blanco, Anita (Charles) Gregory, Zetta (Ronnie) Wahl, and Arcanas "A.C." (Elizabeth) Turner, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was a Dayton Police officer from 1957-1969 during which time he was also the pilot for Russ Garra and WHIO for air scout. Burnam was a 32nd Degree Mason and member of the Mystic Lodge No. 405, as well as a member of the Scottish Rite. He was also a U.S. Navy veteran serving in the Korean War on the U.S.S. Ticonderoga. Burnam owned several businesses in the Dayton area, including home security systems and electrical supplies. Burnam retired from upper Cumberland Regional Airport in Sparta, TN, where he managed the airport and flew charter transportation. Family will receive friends from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm on Thursday, August 7, 2014 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek, where a funeral service will follow at 1:30 pm.
