News Death Notice

REEVES, Helen M. age 91 of Trotwood, OH began her journey home on August 5, 2014. She was born in Paris, KY and moved to Dayton at an early age. Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth H. Reeves. Parents, Noah and Cora Talbott, special aunt, Stella Flemmings; daughters: Roberta J. Brown, Janice M. Irvin, Kimberly Y. and Tonia E. Reeves.; sons: Jeffery and Terry Reeves; sisters: Dorothy Blake and Ann Landon; brothers: Carl, Cecil, Raymond and Robert Talbott and former husband Joseph Irvin. Helen is survived by daughters, Delores (Dee) Wiley, Shirley A. Thompson, Lynette L. Irvin and Pamela (James) Bruin with whom she resided; sons: Bruce E. Irvin, Kenneth C. (Seana) and Anthony (Dana) Reeves; sisters: Carolyn A. Talbott and Katherine Connors; brothers: Richard and Norman Talbott. She had a large family which included 108 grandchildren: 37 grand, 48 great-grand and 23 great-great-grand; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and neighbors Mary Wade and Patricia Grier. Helen loved life and her family dearly and so enjoyed the many family reunions and family gatherings. If anyone mentioned a game of Pokeno-she was there. She had a knack with plants and loved gardening. The family would like to give thanks to her loving granddaughter and caregiver, Nickole Carpenter and the caring nurses of Hospice of Dayton; Melissa, Konia, Carmen, Jenny, Kristi, Amy and LaToya as well as Pastor John for the outstanding care given to our Mom. There will be a Gathering of Family and Friends Friday, August 8, 2014 starting at 9 am at the Ethan Temple Seventh Day Adventist Church, 4000 Shiloh Springs Road, Clayton, followed by a Celebration of Helen's life at 10 am with Dr. Joe Grider and Deboria Harrison presiding. Burial will follow in the Dayton National Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to the TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME ENGLEWOOD CHAPEL. Donations may be made to Hospice of Dayton.
