LIMBACH, Ronald George age 83 of Fairborn passed away peacefully into the arms of the Lord on Monday August 4th 2014 after a lengthy stay at Miami Valley and Kindred Hospitals. Ron was a retired employee of the Metropolitan Insurance Companies, having served over 50 years as a dedicated and trustworthy professional; first, as an agent, progressing to sales manager and eventually district sales manager of the Dayton Ohio office. Ron had hundreds of clients over the course of his career and touched many lives with his guidance, service and general love of people. Ron was a Chartered Life Underwriter who was well known in the Dayton-Springfield metropolitan areas having served as the President of the National Association of Life Underwriters, Springfield Chapter as well as a long-time member of the Dayton Association of Life Underwriters. Ron served as the President of the Ohio/West Virginia Chapter of the Metropolitan Veterans Association. All those who knew Ron in the industry were touched by his kindness, his candor, and his sense of humor. Ron was a gifted musician, a natural at the piano, who entertained family, friends and others with music that flowed smoothly and beautifully from his mind to his fingers. Many will miss listening to his wonderful piano music. He entertained many at the Fairborn Chamber of Commerce Chamber Chats and volunteered his skillful art at the Senior Centers of Fairborn and Beavercreek and at the Summit and Friends nursing homes. Ron was a member of Mary, Help of Christians Catholic Church. He was an active member serving in many capacities in the Fairborn Knights of Columbus, Council 3724. He especially loved the art of raising funds for his local Council through raffle sales, tickets, and other fundraising efforts. He was a Past Grand Knight of Council 3724, and a member of the Monsignor Buckley Fourth Degree. Ron and his wife were recently awarded the Knights of Columbus State Award for Family of the Month. Ron served as the Chairperson of the Wright State University Men's Basketball Ushering Program. As a result, he and his fellow Knights raised thousands of dollars for local charities and school scholarships. He was a special and talented person who loved storytelling, jokes, and his fellow man. Ron is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Myra, and he was blessed with three very special children who loved their father very deeply: daughter, Rhonda Long of Clearwater FL; son Mark and wife Sharon of Seaside CA; and daughter Jessica Limbach of Yellow Springs, and future son-in-law Carl Gleinser. Ron had three grandchildren: Janel Long of Clearwater FL, Angelique Long of Lake Station IN and Alex Limbach of Seaside CA and two great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Wilton and Margaret Limbach, sister Dorothy Limbach, and former wife, Sharlee Veidt Limbach. The family would like to recognize the caring staffs of Miami Valley and Kindred Hospitals and many dedicated supportive friends who were there for us throughout this past six weeks. A viewing will be held on Friday, August 8th from 4-7 PM at Burcham-Jennings Funeral Home, Fairborn. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, August 9th at 10 AM at the Mary, Help of Christians church in Fairborn, Father Charles Lang officiating. Burial will be at Byron Cemetery.
