News Death Notice

KRATZER, Joseph E. age 55 of Dayton, passed away Tuesday, August 5, 2014. Joe was born August 5, 1959 in Wilmington, Ohio to Dale and Dorothea Hibbs Kratzer. Preceded in death by his father. Survived by loving wife of 22 years Susan L. (Miller) Kratzer; mother; brothers Michael (Charlotte) and Steve; sister Andrea (Frank) Tacoronte; and Aunt Marty (Hibbs). Joe was a graduate of Blanchester High School (1977) and Ohio Northern University, member of Alpha Epsilon Pi. He was the owner of Johnstone Supply Dayton/Maumee and a member of Dayton Cycling Club, Team Dayton Cycling, and Walnut Grove Country Club. Joe was given a 25 year gift of life, a kidney transplant, from his sister Andrea. Joe took every opportunity to seek out new people and new experiences, keeping his friends for life. He loved cycling, fishing, his family and friends, and everyone wanted invitations for his fabulous cooking. Friends may call from 2:00 to 5:00 pm Sunday August 10, 2014 at TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME - FAR HILLS CHAPEL 5471 Far Hills Ave., Dayton Ohio 45429. Funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 11, 2014 at the funeral home. Graveside service 2:30 p.m. Monday at the I.O.O.F Cemetery, Westboro, Ohio. Pastor Donald Payne officiating.
