News Death Notice

GAGNON, Robert Joseph age 88 of Dayton, passed away Saturday, August 16, 2014. He was preceded in death by his wife Lois Gagnon, parents Marguerite and Ephraim Gagnon, brothers Sylvio, Richard, and Armand, and sister Isabel. Robert is survived by his sister Peggy Schirtzinger; children and their spouses, Gail (Don(deceased)) Umbricht, Gary (Mary) Gagnon, Amy (Jim) Wright, Jane (Fred) Marx, Mark (Diana) Gagnon, and David (Susan) Gagnon. Robert is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren as well as many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. Robert served in the Marine Corp in WWII, he retired from DP&L after 32 years, owned and operated his own business for the last 35 years, and was a dedicated member of the St. Anthony choir for over 50 years. Of his many hobbies, Robert was an avid fisherman and gardener, and he will most be remembered for his ice box cookies and grilled chicken, which he generously shared with many. The visitation for Robert will be Monday August 18, 2014 from 4-8 PM at Tobias Funeral Home Belmont Chapel and the Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday August 19, 2014 10:00 AM at St. Anthony Church. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made to St. Anthony Church or Hospice of Dayton. Arrangements in care of TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME BELMONT CHAPEL.
