News Death Notice
BRYAN, Theodore Age 94, of Xenia passed away Friday, December 5, 2014 at Elmcroft of Xenia. He was born January 2, 1920 in Butler, KY, the son of Thurman and Gertrude (Brownfield) Bryan. He was preceded in death by parents, sisters: Ernestine Arnold and Buelah Landen; brothers: Leslie Bryan and Cecil Edwin Bryan; and a grandson: Joshua Enneking. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years: Jean Yelton Bryan; daughters: Becky (Richard) Enneking of Beavercreek, Teresa Austin of Xenia and Carol (Mike) VanDeventer of Wilmington; a sister: Ann Holt of TN; grandchildren: Jason Enneking; Caelynn (Scott) Teasdale; Jerilynn (Paul) Wetzel and Jacob Austin; and a great granddaughter: Brooklyn Wetzel; as well as numerous other relatives and friends. In 1938, he graduated from Butler High School in KY; and went on to attend Central Radio and TV training in Kansas City, MO. He served in the US Army Air Corps as an Airborne Radio operator from 1942-46 during WWII, serving in the CBI Theatre of Operations. During the Korean War, he served in the US Air Force from 1951-52 in both the United States and England. He retired from Wright Patterson AFB as a civilian in 1979. He was a member of the Memorial United Presbyterian Church. He was an amateur radio operator, he enjoyed flying, fishing and gardening. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Monday, December 8, 2014 at Memorial United Presbyterian Church, 343 W. Ankeney Mill Road, Xenia with Pastor Kelley Shin and Pastor Michael Helling co-officiating. Interment to follow in Woodland Cemetery, Xenia. Visitation will be held Monday from 10 AM until the time of service at the church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to either the Hospice of Dayton or the Memorial United Presbyterian Church in his memory.
