OTTING, Cornelius B. "Corny" 85, of Minster, passed away January 12, 2009. He was born March 12, 1923 in Minister, son of the late Joseph & Elizabeth (Zumberge) Otting. He was a member of the St. Augustine Church, Minster, FOE 1391, Minster, American Legion, Minster, VFW, Minster. He was a veteran of the US Navy, WWII in Europe & Pacific Theatres, a retired stone mason, Freytag Masonry, Mister. He was preceded in death by his parent; his wife, whom he married Nov. 15, 1951, Phyllis Dalton, on December 13, 1993; 2 brothers, Henry & Vernon Otting; 1 sister, Marie Otting; a half brother, Raymond Otting. Survived by children, Roma & Lou Brown, Columbus, Nelia & Larry Rable, St. Marys, Scott Otting, Columbus; brothers and sisters, Martha & Stan Kleinhenz, St. Marys, Norbert & Norma Otting, Minster, Verona Poeppelman, McCartyville; 5 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren. Services 10 A.M. Friday, St. Augustine Church, Rev. Louis Schmit officiating. Burial in the Church Cemetery. Full military honors at the graveside by the Minster Firing Squad. Visitation 2-8 P.M. Thursday & 9-9:30 A.M. Friday at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster. Memorials may be made to Grand Lake Hospice and USS Dashiell Reunion Fund.
