KNAPP, Peter Osborn born August 13, 1930, in Lexington KY, died February 8, 2009, on Hilton Head Island SC. He was the husband of Barbara Curtis Knapp and father of Curtis M. Knapp and Elizabeth Knapp Morris. Grandchildren include James Scott Knapp, and Samantha Elizabeth Knapp. His BA was from Ohio's Kenyon College and his MBA from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He was a Korean War Army veteran. His long career in banking in Cincinnati and Dayton, culminated in his position as a Regional Executive Vice President for Credit Administration for Key Bank, headquartered in Cleveland. A passion for "giving back to the community," led him to devote time and effort to numerous philanthropic and arts organizations. He served as President of the Dayton Metropolitan YMCA, Trustee of the Ohio Foundation for Independent colleges, Vestryman of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Oakwood, board member of St. Leonard's Home in its founding years, board member of Grandview Hospital, member of the Dayton Art Institute Associate Board and on many other community boards and committees. In 1994, Mr. Knapp served under the US State Department conducting part of a seminar on banking in St. Petersburg, Russia.
