News Death Notice

MARTIN, Lillie Mae age 60, of Dayton, passed away after a brief battle with cancer on May 17, 2010. She was born March 30, 1950 in Whiteville, North Carolina. Lillie was a faithful member of Omega Baptist Church for over 15 years. During that time she worked on the building fund, served as a greeter, and volunteered her time folding church bulletins. She was an avid reader who also enjoyed watching movies, cooking, gardening, playing Scrabble, and shopping, all in the company of loved ones. She touched the lives of many people with her sweet and gentle spirit, and maintained that same peacefulness until the end. She was preceded in death by her parents, Baxter and Hattie Wall and her brothers, Jessie Wall and James Wall. She will forever be remembered by her adoring husband of 38 years, Johnny Martin, her devoted sisters, Barbara (Bobby) Ferrell, Shelly Smith, Hattie Millender, Diane (Matt) Wallace, Ruby (Al) McArthur, her loving brother, William (Gwen) Wall, her adoring children, Johnnetta Shaw, Tim (Ria) Martin, her cherished grandchildren, Jasmyne, Jalen, Joia, Gabrielle, Tim II, her caring mother-in-law, Que Bell Hinton, her sisters-in-law, Linda Taylor, Gail (Al) Williams, Katherine Burton, Bobbie Burton, Nell Burton, her brother-in-law, Buddy (Lynn) Martin, her aunt Ruth (Rep) Carson, and countless other family and friends who were blessed to know her. Visitation will take place at 9AM on Friday, May 21, 2010 at Omega Baptist Church, 1821 Emerson Avenue, Dayton, Ohio. The Homegoing Service will immediately follow beginning at 11AM with Pastor Daryl Ward officiating. Friends and family are invited to attend. Interment immediately following services at West Memory Gardens. Services respectfully rendered by H.H. Roberts.
