He received his business degree at Ohio State University, where he met and married Caroline Eloise Hoffman who passed in 1985. Serving in the United States Army during WW II, he attained the rank of lieutenant colonel before returning to civilian life to co-found Seitz and George Office Equipment Company in Dayton, Ohio, where he raised his three sons. Retiring in 1971, he and his wife Carrie moved their lives to Las Cruces, where he continued with civic and charitable works. In this area his service and achievements are too numerous to list all, but most notable perhaps, was his work with the Lions Club of Dayton, Ohio, Rotary Club of Las Cruces, Goodwill of Las Cruces, The United Way, The New Mexico State University Foundation, and the Red Cross of America. Mr. George was the first appointee from the State of New Mexico to serve on the National Board of Governors of the Red Cross. Myron enjoyed historical reading, gardening (tomatoes particularly) fishing and world travel. He had the Welsh gift of song with his rich baritone voice. He is survived by sons: Randolph (Smaro) George of Marion Station, MD, Brian (Connie) George of Novato, CA, granddaughter Ashley (Andrew) Staples, and two great grandsons, William and Luke Staples of Phoenix, AZ, granddaughter Lindsay (Joe) South of Menlo Park, CA. and son Timothy (Karen) George of Mesquite, NM. Services will be private, no flowers please. A reunion with Carrie will take place at the Miami Valley Memory Gardens in Centerville, OH. Dad, we love you. Thank you for being there for us.
