News Death Notice

THREATT, Hermina G., "Mikki" age 72, was born February 20, 1941 in Ft. Lauderdale FL, to the late Bennie S. Thomas, Sr., and Flossie Sweet Thomas. She went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 21, 2013. At age 3, Mikki moved to Akron OH, where she was raised by Frank and Vallie Butler (her Uncle and Aunt), along with their only daughter Geraldine. She was a member of Wesley Temple AME Zion Church of Akron, where she was a member of the Junior Choir. She was joined in marriage to William Manley Threatt, Jr., and to this union two children were born, William Manley, III, and Michelle Lynn. Mikki was a legal secretary for Western Reserve Legal Aid Services of Akron, where she worked for more than 20 years. Mikki moved to Dayton OH in 2001 to be closer to her children and made new friends. In 2002, she joined and was baptized at St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, her Aunt and Uncle, two brothers, Bennie Jr., and John Thomas; two sisters, Ruth Thomas and Geraldine Oden. She leaves to cherish her memory her children, William (Jamie) Threatt, III, and a daughter Michelle (Kenneth) Littlejohn; six grandchildren, Shontae and Dontae Threatt, Stafford VA; Michael, Thomas (Kibibi), and Courtney White, all of Springfield OH; and Kennedy Littlejohn, Dayton OH; one sister, Minnie Weaver, Washington DC; her best friend, Yasmin "Nikki" Shelton, special Goddaughter Tinisha Shelton-Jones and her son Esias, Dayton OH, her "little brother" Darrell (Shirley) Butler, Akron OH; childhood friend Glennie Allen, Raleigh NC, six nieces and nephews, and a host of great-nieces, great-nephews, other relatives and friends. Homegoing and Celebration of Life Service will be held Thursday, February 28, 2013, 1:00 p.m., at the St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church, 2262 North Gettysburg Avenue, Dayton OH, Pastor Sylvester Walker officiating. Friends may call 11:00 AM until the time of service. Family will receive friends one hour prior to service. Interment Shiloh Park Cemetery. HHRoberts.com
