News Death Notice

BISSONETTE, Arthur G. Age 89, of Dayton, Ohio, passed away with his family by his side, on March 8, 2013. He was born in Delavan, Minnesota, on May 19, 1923 to George A. and Loretta E. Bissonette, was a U.S. Army Air Corp veteran of WWII, attended the College of St. Thomas in St. Paul, was a graduate of the University of Minnesota (1951) and had a distinguished career as an electrical engineer at Wright Patterson Air Force Base. Art was also a long-time member of ST. Rita of Cascia Catholic Church where he was an active servant in the parish community, a Eucharistic minister for the homebound and a 30-year volunteer for St. Vincent DePaul "his second career". Art who will be most remembered as a passionate helper to those-in-need, treasured moments with the "Hang Loose Gang" and fancied himself as a good bridge player. Preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife, Betty Lou; sister, Mary Lynn and cherished friend Millie Storck. Survived by children, Catherine A. Bissonette. Daniel G. Bissonette, Elise M. Pattison (Preston), Eric M. Bissonette, and Gail B. Marsh (Clay). "Papa" to his grandchildren; Rachel, Cameron and Matthew Marsh and Sydney and Sarah Pattison. And brothers, Edward J. (Dorothy deceased), Mark A. (Susan) Bissonette, and Bernard J. (Margaret "Peggy"), and numerous nieces and nephews, as well as best friend of 55 years, Fred Clark. Mass of Christian Burial Wednesday, 10:30 AM, March 13, 2013, at ST. Rita of Cascia Church, 5401 N. Main St., Dayton, OH 45415. The family will joyfully reminisce with friends and loved ones after mass at St. Rita Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the St. Vincent DePaul Society care of St. Rita Church. Arrangements by the GEORGE C. MARTIN FUNERAL HOME, "Northridge Chapel," 5040 Frederick Pike at Needmore Road, Dayton.
