News Death Notice

SCHWEICKART, Elmer Louis age 90 of Kettering, went to be with the Lord on Monday, March 18, 2013. He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles S. and Angela (Geswein) Schweickart, and brothers and sister, Charles W. Schweickart, Ralph Schweickart, and Rosemary (Schweickart) Haas. He is survived by his wife, Margaret (Snyder) Schweickart; brother, James Schweickart. sister, Mildred (Schweickart) Payne; son, Daniel Schweickart; daughter-in-law, Maria (DiSalvo) Schweickart; grandson, Paul Schweickart and many nieces and nephews. Elmer graduated from St. Joseph Central High School in Ironton, OH and attended Middle Tennessee State University. He is a United States Army Air Corps Veteran, retired from civil service at WPAFB after 36 years and volunteered in aircraft restoration at the National Museum of the United States Air Force for almost twenty years. He was a member of St Henry Catholic Church. A visitation and celebration of life will be held from 3 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, March 24, 2013, at Tobias Funeral Home, 5471 Far Hills Ave., Dayton, OH 45429. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, March 25, 2013, at St. Henry Catholic Church, 6696 Springboro Pike, Dayton, OH 45449. Commitment service will be held at Calvary Cemetery, 1625 Calvary Ave, Dayton, OH 45409. Memorial contributions may be given to "Adopted Parish: Haiti/Social Outreach Fund" through St. Henry Church, in lieu of flowers. Condolences can be given to the family at www.tobiasfuneralhome.com.
