News Death Notice

HANEY, Jarred "Jerry" 79, Centerville, OH died peacefully at his residence on Monday August 18th at 6:15 pm. Jerry was born Dec. 27, 1934 in Morgan County, KY and resided in the Dayton area a majority of his life. He was a 1954 graduate of Wilbur Wright High School, proudly attended the University of Dayton, and served his country in the Korean War in the Navy aboard the USS Siboney. Jerry retired as a custom residential home builder operating his own business for over 45 years. He was a past president of the Dayton Area Home Builders Assoc. He is survived by his loving wife, Bobbie Haney; his brothers, Edwin Stamper and Dean Haney: his children: Beth Haney & fiancé Kevin Remmy , Sean Haney and Leslie Booher & fiancé Ronnie Crowe: his grandchildren Duncan Haney Slocum and Kaleigh Slocum; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews whom he dearly loved; with special mention of Gerald and Jan Stamper and Cecil and Carol Gibson; and his special angel Jeannie Brooks. He is preceded in death by his beloved mother, Rosa Cochran; and numerous brothers and sisters, aunts and uncles. Visitation will be held at Tobias Funeral Home, 5471 Far Hills Ave, Dayton, OH on Saturday the 23rd from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon, with a short memorial service following. Jerry never met a stranger. He loved life, his family, his friends, and his country. To honor Jerry's wishes, we will all join together in a Traditional Irish Wake and celebrate the life of this wonderful man.
