Family-Placed Obituary
BAUMGARTNER, Harold "Opa" R. age 66, of Beavercreek, passed away on Monday, April 17, 2006 at Miami Valley Hospital. He was born to the late, Kenneth O. and Martha E. Baumgartner in Elmira, NY. He is preceded in death by his brother, Sonny Baumgartner and sister, Twila Zimmerman. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Judy Baumgartner; son, Kenneth M. (Cynthia) Baumgartner; daughters, Tina M. Baumgartner, Heidi A. (Stephen) Ellis, Cheryl L. (Buddy J.) Schneider; grandchildren, Kenneth, Jamie, Greggory, Daniel, Krista, Andrew, Brooke, Brandi; sisters, Virgie (Pete) Matheny, Mildred (Ray) Austin, Ida (Phil) Beard; brothers, Robert (Betty) Baumgartner, Jack (June) Baumgartner; Mother in-law, Frances Benjamin; brothers in-law, Skip Zimmerman, Charles (Rae) Benjamin and several nieces and nephews. Harold had retired from the Navy after 20 years of service. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and an active member in the Dayton Victory Chapter of the Eastern Star. Memorial service will take place at 11 AM on Thursday, April 20, 2006 at St. Christopher Episcopal Church, 1501 N. Broad St, Fairborn. Family will receive friends at the church from 10 AM until time of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society specifically for small cell lung cancer research 40 South Perry St., Suite 120, Dayton, Ohio 45402. Services have been entrusted to TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME-BEAVERCREEK CHAPEL, 3970 Dayton-Xenia Road. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.tobiasfuneralhome.com
