Family-Placed Obituary

SEARS, Rosemary T. (Zierhut) age 87, of St. Leonards Center, passed away Tuesday November 13, 2007. Mrs. Sears was born and raised in the German Village area of Columbus, and was a graduate of St. Mary's High School in Columbus. During her working career she was a teacher at Miami Jacobs College and later retired from United Aircraft where she was a data processor. In addition to her vocational accomplishments, she was most proud of being a devoted mother of nine children and making each child feel as if each was her favorite. Mrs. Sears was preceded in death by her husband, Everett Sears in 1989, and a son, Stephen in 1946. She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Donald, Norman and Ollie Zierhut. She is survived by three daughters, Paula (James) Weckesser, Julie (Larry) Chmiel, Krista Sears; five sons, Eric (Carol) Sears, Anthony (Patricia) Sears, Kevin Sears, John (Judy) Sears, Mark (Denise) Sears; 19 grandchildren, Laura (Kevin) Arcuri, James (Corrie) Weckesser, Mark (Bridget) Weckesser, Tracie (Josh) Walsworth, Brett (Mandy) Chmiel, Stephen (Stacey) Cassanio, Thomas (Samantha) Cassanio, Erika (Dan) Srbinovski, Drew (Kim) Sears, Kelly Sears, Rebecca Sears, Molly Sears, Emma Sears, Katherine Sears, Jake Sears, Ellen Sears, Chad Sears, Matthew Sears, Ashley Sears; five great-grandchildren, Brooklynn Cassanio, Jayden Walsworth, Alison Cassanio, Anthony Arcuri, Camden Weckesser; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; and a care giver & friend, Rob. Mass of Christian Burial 11:00am Saturday at St. Leonards Chapel in Centerville. Burial Calvary Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 4-8pm at The Westbrock Funeral Home, 5980 Bigger Road, and from 10-11 am Saturday at the Church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the St. Leonard's Benevolent Fund. The family would like to thank the people and staff at both St. Leonards and Hospice of Dayton for all of the professional and compassionate care given to Rosemary and her family.
