Funeral for Tommy Faye Pugh, 77, who went to be with her Lord and Savior on April 7, 2014, will be today, April 9th at 2 p.m. at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Wren, Alabama, where she was a member. Bro. Randy Copeland, Bro. Neil Carter and Dr. Tommy Whitlow will be officiating with Elliott Funeral Home directing.

Burial will be in Montgomery Cemetery.

Tommy Faye was born December 29, 1936, in Lawrence County to Tom and Louida Woodard. She graduated from Lawrence County High School in 1955. A devoted wife, mother, sister and friend, Tommy Faye worked as chief clerk and retired as the Lawrence County Tax Collector after 30 years of service. Tommy Faye loved her family and friends and always placed the needs of others before her own. She loved gardening and spending time with family and friends and cat, Baby.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Verbon Pugh.

She is survived by one daughter, Linda Heflin and husband, Mike; one son, Mike Pugh and wife, Terri; one sister, Betty Stephenson; one brother, Murry Woodard; and four grandchildren; Alisha Heflin, Chris Pugh and wife, Laura, Matthew Pugh and Rachel Heflin.

Pallbearers will be Chris Pugh, Matthew Pugh, J.F. Stephenson Jr., Daniel Stephenson, Jeff Woodard, John Montgomery, Collins Montgomery and Michael Hackney.
