Funeral for Micah Dwight Coffey, 33, of Danville will be Saturday, September 29, 2012, at 2 p.m. at Coffey Center with O.D. Bowling, Rev. Kenny Rogers and Rev. Marcus Lipscomb officiating and Parkway Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in East Lawrence Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 at Coffey Center.

Mr. Coffey, who died Tuesday, September 25, 2012, was born August 28, 1979, in Morgan County to Dwight Coffey and Ann Coffey. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Pruitt and Rachel Callahan and Clarence and Mable Coffey. He was the Lawrence County Coroner for the last six years and co-owner of Parkway Funeral Home. He was a member of the Ray Sparks Band. He was a talented musician and singer. Micah served Lawrence County families with compassion in the funeral home and coroner's office. He previously was a flight paramedic for Air Evac.

Survivors include his wife, Miranda Coffey; one son, Andrew Coffey; and parents, Ann Coffey of Danville and Dwight Coffey of Decatur.

Pallbearers will be Gene Mitchell, Kell Whitlow, Joe Dutton, Jeff Hill, Ray Sparks, Jerome Theodorou and Terry Garwood.

Honorary pallbearers will be Scott Sanderson, Brandon Denton and Richard Thompson.

Micah was a 'ray of sunshine' to everyone who knew him. Micah will be missed; he had an amazing God given talent in music. Ann, I am so sorry for your loss. I can't imagine the kind of pain you must be bearing. You are in my thoughts and prayers. May God guide you and give you the strength to go on and share Micah's life and memories with others as Micah would want you to do.
