Thomas Harvey Tennison Athens Thomas Harvey Tennison, 87, died December 13, 2014. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 9 at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home. Funeral will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. in the chapel with burial in Limestone Memorial Gardens.

Thompson, Rebecca Jean - Hillsboro  
Rebecca Jean Thompson Day Hillsboro April 3, 1934-December 11, 2014 Funeral service for Rebecca Jean Thompson Day, 80, of Hillsboro will be Sunday, December 14, 2014, at 1 p.m. at Parkway Funeral Home Chapel, Trinity, with Jerome Thompson officiating. Family members' visitation will begin at 10 a.m. at the funeral home followed by friends and general public visitation from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Burial will be in East Lawrence Memorial Gardens immediately following the chapel services. Mrs. Day, who died December 11, 2014, at NHC-Moulton, was born April 3, 1934, in Lawrence County to Harvey Clark "HC" Thompson Sr. and Madgie Lee Terry Thompson. She was retired from Moulton Nursing Home, now known as NHC-Moulton, where she served as Assistant Activities Director for several years. She battled Alzheimer's-Dementia for eight years with great courage, bravery and dignity. Prior to relocatiang to the Loosier Community in 1976, the Days resided in Chicago and Romeoville, Illinois, where they reared their four children, and Mrs. Day worked for 12 years as a circuit board technician and supervisor at the Money Technology Company, and at the Amphenol Technology Company. After returning to Lawrence County, she served as a volunteer at the Jesse Owens Museum and with Habital for Humanity in addition to her work at the nursing home. She was happily involved in extra curricular school activities from kindergarten to high school for granddaughters, Ashley and Megan, and was thrilled to have them living nearby. She also loved visiting with her nine other grandchildren who lived outside of Alabama, and traveled when possible to watch them participate in sports, school and church activities. She made it a priority to attend all their high school graduations and weddings. On her 80th birthday this past April, she happily danced with her now-grown grandsons. Mrs. Day was a longtime member of the Loosier Church of Christ and after moving to Hillsboro became a member of New Antioch Church of Christ, where she was involved in Church outreach and visitation. Mrs. Day was preceded in death by the love of her life for 60 years, her husband, Vance E. "Junior" Day, Hillsboro, AL; her parents, H.C. and Madgie Thompson; her brothers, Harvey Clark Thompson Jr., Albert Thompson, and Hollis G. Thompson; and her sister, Lucille Ransom. Survivors include two sons, Roger Day (Lillis), of Bartlett, TN and Kenneth Day (Sandra), of Madison, AL; two daughters, Susan Day Schoenhoff (Dave), of Romeoville, IL, and Donna Day Montgomery (Tim), of Trinity, AL; 11 grandchildren, Jeremiah Day (Ryanne), of St. George, UT; Heather Day Gustafson (Greg), of Navarre, FL; Trevor Day, of Bartlett, TN; Sara Day Trivedi (Aneel), of Park Ridge, IL; Christina Day Swanson, of Burlington, KY; Jessica Day and Andrew Day, both of Chicago, IL; Melissa Schoenhoff Congoran (Matt), of Joliet, IL; Derek Schoenhoff, of Romeoville, IL; Ashley Stricklin Delashaw (Will), of Hillsboro, AL; Megan Stricklin Pitz (Jake), Of Hillsboro, AL; and one stepgranddaughter, Elizabeth Montgomery King (Eric), of Moulton, AL. Mrs. Day also enjoyed her 18 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She is also survived by three brothers, Dr. James L. Thompson, of Hoover, AL; Larry Thompson, of Hatton, AL; and Mike Thompson, of Prattville, AL; and two sisters, Juanita Brown and Dorothy Cross, both of Hatton. Special thanks to NHC-Moulton, Parkway Funeral Home and Hospice of The Valley for their compassionate loving care and to Mrs. Day's most cherished friends, Martha and Milton Jeffreys. Pallbearers will be her two sons, Roger and Kenneth Day and four grandsons, Derek Schoenhoff, Jeremiah Day, Trevor Day, and Andrew Day. Honorary pallbearer will be Kellen Dutton. A special tribute will be made to Milton Jeffreys and words of remembrance will be spoken by Roger and Kenneth Day. Mrs. Day's favorite songs will be performed at the gravesite by the Heavenly Jubilee Singers, Loyel and Mary Gray.
