Roger Dale Aldridge Hartselle Funeral service for Roger Dale Aldridge, 63, of Hartselle will be Friday, March 6, 2015, at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Ralph Henderson officiating. Burial will be in Caddo Cemetery. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home. Mr. Aldridge, who died Wednesday, March 4, 2015, at his residence, was born July 14, 1951, in Morgan County to John William Aldridge and Lucille Decatur Aldridge. He retired as a truck driver for D.C. Transportation. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Jimmy and John "Red" Aldridge. Survivors include his wife, Etta Aldridge; three sons, Bobby Aldridge of Hartselle, Jerry Aldridge (Rachel) of Somerville and James Aldridge (Christy) of Hartselle; three daughters, Tina Iracheta (Jose) of Hartselle, Timoran Greenfield (James) of Falkville and Ashley Linderman(Jacob) of Hartselle; two brothers, Andy Aldridge of Athens and Ernest Aldridge of Kentucky; three sisters, Virginia Pruitt of Falkville, Mary Jacobs of Decatur and Betty Presley of Elkmont; and 16 grandchildren. Pallbearers will be family and friends.

Ola Woodall Alldredge Eva Funeral service for Ola Woodall Alldredge will be Sunday, March 1, 2015, at 3 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Brent Oaks officiating. Burial will be in Rock Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. at the funeral home. Mrs. Alldredge died Wednesday, February 25, 2015, at Falkville Health Care Center. She was born November 6, 1919, in Morgan County to Lee Woodall and Mattie Oden Woodall. She was preceded in death by her parents; the father of their children, M.P. Alldredge; and seven brothers. Scooter was the pet she thought so much of. "Our mother was a great mother and grandmother, she loved her family and spent her life taking care of them." Survivors include five sons, Maurice Alldredge (Janice) of Eva, Jimmy Alldredge of Baileyton, Bobby Alldredge of Eva, Jackie Alldredge (Bonnie) of Falkville and Ray Alldredge of Eva; two daughters, Carolyn Sue Oaks (Jerrell) of Hartselle and Sandra McMinemon (Billy) of Somerville; 12 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Joey Alldredge, Donald Henry, Josh McMinemon, Terry Garrison, Tommy Alldredge and Justin Alldredge.

Anthony Tyler officiating and Shelton Funeral Home directing. Mrs. Barnes was born Friday, May 18, 1979, in Morgan County and passed away Friday, February 27, 2015, at home. She is survived by her husband, Brandon Barnes; mother, Janice Terry, of Moulton; sons, Zack Johnson, of Trinity and Ethan Pitt, of Moulton; daughters, Haley Drinkard, Aaliyah Pitt and Jaci Pitt, all of Moulton; and sisters, Tina Spann and Terri Stricklin, both of Moulton.

Mr. Beene, who died Wednesday, February 25, 2015, was born on March 1, 1939, in Lawrence County to George Washington Beene and Mattie Mae Norwood Beene. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife, Velma Beene; three children, Sharon Beene Millsap, Ricky Beene (Peggy), and Karen Wise (Rodney); sister, Connie Mills; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Brad Davis, Derick Beene, Zach Wright, Jeremy Franko, Mark Strickland, and Flynn Owens.

Black, Dr. L. Gene - Homewood  
Dr. L. Gene Black Homewood Dr. L. Gene Black, 80, of Homewood passed away at his home on Wednesday, February 25, surrounded by family and friends. He was born in Decatur on July 10, 1934 and was a 1953 graduate of Decatur High School. He went on to earn a Bachelor of Music Education degree from Samford University, Master of Arts in Music Education, Advanced Master's in Secondary Education, and a Doctorate of Philosophy in Higher Education and Music degrees from the University of Alabama. Dr. Black was a Professor of Music and Music Education, and Dean of the School of Music at Samford University in Birmingham over a span of 35 years. He was also the conductor of the Samford University A Cappella Choir. He was inducted in the inaugural class of the Alabama Music Educators Hall of Fame and served numerous churches in the Birmingham area as interim or full-time Minister of Music. Dr. Black is survived by his wife of 57 years, Faye Hamilton Black; their daughter, Gina Clay (Mitchel), and their grandchildren Ethan Blake Standard, Emma Kathryn Standard and Elijah Hamilton Standard. He is also survived by his brother Joe Black of Decatur, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lonnie and Mattie Lois Black; sisters, Mary Houston and Gurstle Rogers; and brothers, Otha Black, Greer Black and Morris Black.
