Templeton, Carl R. - Hartselle  
Carl R. Templeton Hartselle Funeral service for Carl R. Templeton, 86, of Hartselle will be Wednesday, February 25, 2015, at 11 a.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Hartselle Memory Gardens. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home. Mr. Templeton, who died Sunday, February 22, 2015, at Decatur Morgan Hospital, was born July 3, 1928, in Lawrence County to James Aaron Templeton and Hazel Teague Templeton. He was formerly employed at Wolverine Tube as a crane operator and truck driver. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Pickens Templeton; his daughter, Pam Nelson; and his parents. Survivors include one daughter, Carla Peppers (Billy) of Arley; one brother, Billy Templeton of Danville; one sister, Betty Crow of Danville; three grandchildren and six great- grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Allen Peppers, Xander Peppers, Billy Trotter, Adrian Nelson, Dylan Trotter and Gary Templeton. Honorary pallbearer will be Robert Drinkard. In lieu of flowers, family requests that donations be made to Meals on Wheels or to Danville Methodist Church.

Terry, Larry Wayne - Town Creek  
Larry Wayne Terry Town Creek Funeral for Larry Wayne Terry, 67, of Town Creek will be today, February 24, 2015, at 2 p.m. at Elliott Funeral Home with Hal Hardy Jr. officiating. Burial will be in John C. Terry Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Mr. Terry died Sunday, February 22, 2015, at Shadecrest Health Care Center in Jasper. He was born April 4, 1947, in Lawrence County to Edd Jr. and Mable Terry. He was a Vietnam veteran. Survivors include one son, Justin Terry of Florence; one sister, JoAnn T. NeSmith of Town Creek; two brothers, Anthony Terry (Sherron) of Montgomery and Bob Terry (Theresa) of Muscle Shoals; and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be family.

Thornton, Charles "Buddy" - Decatur  
Charles 'Buddy' Thornton Decatur Charles "Buddy" Thornton was born on February 25, 1935, to Claude and Eloise Thornton in Atlanta Georgia. Buddy went to be with the Lord on February 19, 2015, surrounded by his family. He was such a loving and caring husband, daddy and granddaddy who always put his family first. He retired from NASA where he was a crane operator and he hung the missile that stands on the Alabama/Tennessee state line. He was an entrepreneur who owned rental property in Decatur and years ago owned Lacon Trade Day and Buddy's Package Store. He was a Decatur resident for over 50 years. He loved Alabama Football and deer hunting. He was a veteran of the Korean War, a Master Mason and Shriner. The family will have visitation and celebration of his life Monday, February 23, 2015, at Roselawn Funeral Home from 5 to 9 p.m. The funeral will be Tuesday at Roselawn Funeral Home at 2 p.m. with burial in Roselawn Cemetery. He was preceded in death by his two sons, Everett and Anthony Thornton; his mother and father, Claude and Eloise Thornton; his sisters, Temperance McGhee and Mamie Fowler. Survivors include his wife of 31 years, Bonnie Lynch Thornton; daughter, Melissa Kelso; grandson, Ethan Kelso; stepson, Michael Bowman; sister Ann Thornton; niece, Kelly Wright; nephews, Ashley Steadham, Jessie Baker and many more nieces and nephews. We love and miss you so much.

Torbert, Bobby Gene - Hartselle  
Bobby Gene Torbert Hartselle Dec. 4, 1967 - Feb. 17, 2015 Bobby Gene Torbert 47, of Hartselle passed away Tuesday at a local hospital. Bobby was a native of Huntsville and a resident of Morgan County for the past ten years. He was a member of Christ Our Redeemer Lutheran Church and a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. Survivors include his wife, Tina Marie Torbert; four sons, Bobby Ray Torbert, Colby Torbert, Cameron Torbert and Brian Torbert; his mother and stepfather, Cleopia and Robert Calhoun and two sisters, Melissa Reavis and Teressa Lee. Visitation will be Saturday from noon until 2 p.m. at Christ Church, 2351 Hwy. 72 East followed by a 2 p.m. church service with Bro. Dub McCain and Pastor John Ninke officiating. Burial will follow in Dudley Cemetery on Keel Mountain with Berryhill Funeral Home directing.
