Funeral services for Mrs. Minnie Arnett, 97, of Athens will be Monday, August 29, 2011, at 4 p.m. at Copeland Presbyterian Church with the Reverend Tom Lewis and Pastor Tim Keenum officiating and McConnell Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Copeland Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 2 to 4 p.m. at the church.
Mrs. Arnett, who died Friday, August 26, 2011, was born August 9, 1914, in Limestone County to William H. and Margaret Richardson. She was an active member, the longest member of anyone, of Copeland Presbyterian Church. For several years, she belonged to Homemakers of Limestone County. She was preceded in death by her husband, James L. Arnett, five brothers and four sisters.
She is survived by one son, James Ronnie Arnett of Athens; one daughter, Elaine A. Wade of Huntsville; six grandchildren, James D. Arnett, Cassandra Montgomery, Ronda Holland, all of Athens, Brent A. Wade, Mark D. Wade, Curtis E. Wade Jr., all of Huntsville; and nine great-grandchildren.
