Our precious angel, Sara Elise Alford, returned home to her Heavenly Father on March 24, 2013, after 11 months with her earthly family. Elise's brief presence blessed her family and all who knew her, and we are grateful for the gift that she was. She radiated a spirited and beautiful light that will always shine within our hearts.

Elise was the beloved daughter of John and Elizabeth Alford (Baskerville) of Helena. Big brother, James, was proud to call Elise his sister. Elise's mother and family lived in Decatur and still have close friends and connections there.

She is survived by a large and loving family: grandparents, Rebecca Savage-Sherrer (Gary) of Birmingham, Vic Baskerville (Jennifer) of Birmingham, Carol Alford of Birmingham and Phillip Alford of Grenada, Miss.; great-grandparents, Sara Jo Baskerville of Birmingham, Charlene Moore of Chelsea and Harvey Nabors of Birmingham; aunts and uncles, Allison Corbin (Jason) of Atlanta, John Baskerville of Birmingham and Katie Alford of Birmingham. Elise also had many other cousins, great- aunts and uncles, all who love her dearly.

Her life was celebrated at Helena United Methodist Church on Friday, March 29, 2013 followed by a graveside service with family and friends at Southern Heritage Cemetery in Pelham. Services were officiated by Rev. Michael Edmondson.

Flowers were received at Helena United Methodist Church. Monetary donations may be made to the Sara Elise Alford Memorial Fund at any Wells Fargo Bank.
