Funeral services for Tommy Hartselle, 85, of Decatur will be today, June 3, 2012, at 3 p.m. At Ridout's Brown- Service Funeral Home with Brother Jere Spurlin of Grant Street Church of Christ officiating. Burial will be afterwards in Burningtree Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Hartselle was preceded in death by his mother, father, and two brothers. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Jane; one daughter, Leisa Collier; one son, Rickey Hartselle (Jenny); five grandchildren, Brandon Hartselle (Nancy), Brad Hartselle, Kayley Hartselle, Jessica Coley (Sage), and Nic Bogle; one great-grandchild Willow Coley; and a number of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be grandsons and friends.
Mr. Hartselle was a Mason and a charter member of Cahaba Shrine Temple. He was a successful businessman who owned and operated his own businesses including Hartselle Electric & Plumbing Company for over 40 years. He was also a contractor and property owner who assisted countless people in the community with getting their start in life and business. Mr. Hartselle's love for his family and this community was evident in the way he lived his day to day life. He was loved by all who knew him and he will be greatly missed.
