Thomas H. Hardy Sr.
Memorial service for Mr. Thomas H. Hardy Sr., 73, of Decatur, will be 3:30 p.m., Thursday, January 23, 2014, at St. Paul Lutheran Church with the Reverend Eddie Scheler officiating.
Mr. Hardy was born to the late John and Dorothy Hardy on June 30, 1940, in Lubbock, Texas. He departed this life on January 20, 2014, at Decatur Morgan Hospital-Parkway Campus. Mr. Hardy was a retiree of the U.S. Air Force. He was also a dedicated and retired employee of the Boeing Corporation. The highlight of his career at Boeing was his contribution to the design and completion of the International Space Station.
Mr. Hardy had a passion for golf. He was a Marshall for the U.S. Golf Association. He was a loving husband who adored his wife, children and dogs.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Mary R. Hardy; two sons, Sean (Lara A. Bryant) Sterling of Madison, Thomas H. (Shawn) Hardy Jr. of Newborn, N.C.; daughter, Kim (Joe) Sansoni of Lumberton, N.J.; five grandchildren, Savanna Grace, Cole Hamilton, Matt, Jessica and Taylor; two great-grandchildren, Blake and Emma; and a host of other relatives.
