Funeral service for David E. McAnally, 96, of Somerville will be today, May 9, 2014, at

11 a.m. at Valhermoso First Christian Church with Pastor Mickey Johnson officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Valhermoso Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.

Mr. McAnally died Wednesday, May 7, 2014, at River City Care and Rehab. He was born September 20, 1917, in Morgan County to Luther McAnally and Ruth Chunn McAnally. Mr. McAnally was a lifelong member of Valhermoso Springs First Christian Church. He served in the CC Camp in Tishomingo, Mississippi. He was the night superintendent for Monsanto Chemical Company until his retirement and was a farmer. He was preceded in death by his wife of 68

years, Bernice Cryer McAnally; one grandson, Jon David McAnally; two sisters and one brother.

Survivors include one son, David Ray McAnally and wife, Pat, of Decatur; one daughter, Sherry Holmes and husband, Jeff, of Somerville; one brother, Elliott McAnally and wife, Pat, of Lacey's Spring; two grandchildren, Brandy Bedingfield and husband, Scott, and Dwain Holmes; and six great-grandchildren, Jacob Bedingfield, Kalyn Bedingfield, Allie Bedingfield, Graham Duncan, Lanie Sue McAnally and Faith Holmes.

Pallbearers will be Scott Bedingfield, Jacob Bedingfield, Byron Jones, Dwight Jones, Mark McAnally and Greg Jones.
