Funeral for James "Jimmy" Lee Lane, 54, will be noon Saturday at Canaan Missionary Baptist Church in Hillsboro with the Rev. Ronald Merriweather officiating. The body will be placed in the church one hour prior to the service.
Burial will be in Sterrs Cemetery. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 7 at Reynolds Funeral Home.
Mr. Lane was born Dec. 16, 1953, in Limestone County to Jeff Baker and Louise Lane Barbee. He departed this life on Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2008.
He was a member of Canaan Missionary Baptist Church where he served on the usher board. He was a member of the Braxdoll Masonic Lodge No. 28. He was a loyal employee of the Alabama Farmers Co-op in Decatur.
He leaves to cherish his memory a devoted wife of 26 years, Elyce Carter Lane; a devoted mother, Louise Lane Barbee; two daughters, Tiffany Loggins of Phoenix, Ariz., and Jareece Lane of Decatur; two sons, Jarvis and Jeremie Lane, both of Decatur; three brothers, Pastor Adric (Gay Nell) Lane of Nashville, Tenn., Willie (Renee) Barbee of Abilene, Texas, and Wayne Barbee; one sister, Marion Barbee; devoted cousin, Johnny Mae Jones; one niece, Kierstan Barbee, and two nephews, Baylor and Britain Barbee all of Abilene, Texas.
Pallbearers will be the deacons of Canaan Missionary Baptist Church.
