Funeral for Jeannette Pennington Gresham, 82, of Decatur will be Thursday, December 17, 2009, at 3 p.m. at First Baptist Church with Dr. Bill Hurt and the Rev. Roger Jenkins officiating and Roselawn Funeral Home directing.
Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. at the church.
Mrs. Gresham, who died Tuesday, December 15, 2009, at Decatur General Hospital, was born April 29, 1927, in Dadeville to Chestley Arthur Pennington and Lillie Mae Pennington. She was a wife, mother and homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Frank P. Gresham; her parents; granddaughter, Lindsey Gay Wilson; and two brothers, Joe and Dick Pennington.
She is survived by five daughters, Debbie (Hugh) Hillhouse, Fran (Max) Cogburn, Angela (Larry) Clontz, Melissa (Bill) Corley and Carole (Ralph) Edwards; nine grandchildren, Amendi Stephens, Trip Cogburn, Casey Cogburn, Annie Harkey, Lauren Wilson, Frank Edwards, Lee Edwards, Sarah Corley Catherine Corley; four stepgrandchildren; and one great-grandchild, Jayden Rebekah Cook.
Pallbearers will be Hugh Hillhouse, Max Cogburn, Larry Clontz, Bill Corley, Ralph Edwards, Trip Cogburn and Frank Edwards.
Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Decatur, PACT, or to the Alabama Baptist Children’s Home.
