Funeral for Brice Clinton Vickery, 82, of Decatur will be today, September 17, 2010, at 2 p.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon until 2 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Vickery, who died Wednesday, September 15, 2010, at his residence, was born June 8, 1928, in Lawrence County to William David Vickery and Eartha Scoggins Vickery. He was a U.S. Navy World War II veteran and retired as a millwright with Daniels Construction at Monsanto Maintenance. Mr. Vickery was a member of Austinville Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Case Vickery; and five brothers, R.A., Quinton, Dave, Pat and Mack.

He is survived by his son, Mike Vickery (Kim) of Decatur; daughter, Rhonda Vickery Blackwood of Decatur; sister, Willena Clark of Nashville, Tenn.; four grandchildren, Michael Chase Vickery and Benjamin Robert Vickery, both of Tuscaloosa, Matthew Brent Blackwood (Alison) and Corey Jefferson Blackwood, both of Decatur; and two great-grandchildren, Harrison Blackwood and Hayden Blackwood of Decatur.

Pallbearers will be Lister Victory, Jon Cartee, Roger Davis, Steve Cartee, Ryan Reeves, Jerome Cartee, Blair Temple and Byron Hood.

Honorary pallbearers will be Aldean Morgan and Ronald Bryant.

The family wishes to express thanks to Hospice of the Valley and United Way Volunteers.
