Funeral for Leon "Lee" Garth will be noon Friday at Bethlehem Primitive Baptist Church in Hillsboro with the Reverend Bryce Lipscomb officiating and the Reverend Marcus Jackson Eulogist. The body will lie in repose one hour prior to funeral service. Interment will follow in Sykes Cemetery with Reynolds Funeral Home directing.

Lee was born in Morgan County on March 12, 1932, to the late Alberta Brooks and Stock Garth. He departed this life on April 4, 2011. He confessed hope in Christ at an early age and joined St. Peter Baptist Church. He was a farmer and an employee of Reynolds Funeral Home for many years. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Walsh Swoopes Jr., Barbara Ann Swoopes and Bessie Robinson.

He leaves to cherish his memory a loving and devoted companion, Mary L. Burt of Hillsboro; three children, John (Antonette) Love and Kimberly (Dennis) Jackson, both of Decatur, and Kendrick (Andrea) Burt of Lester; two sisters, Katie Mae Sails and Julie Jones, both of Decatur; three brothers, Samuel Fletcher and Willie Lewis Swoopes, both of Decatur, and Frank Swoopes of Chattanooga, Tenn.; and a host of grandchildren, cousins, other relatives and friends.
