Jeff O'Neal Adams, 65, of Sparta, Tennessee, died at his home on Friday, December 28, 2012.

Mr. Adams proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. He was a Huey helicopter crew chief with the 21st Signal Aviation Group based in Nha Trang, Vietnam in 1968 and 1969. He was born on July 26, 1947 in Nashville, Tennessee, to Jewell and Serena Adams. He was a 1967 graduate of West Morgan High School.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jewell and Serena Adams of Decatur and his son, Josh, of Sparta, Tennessee. He is survived by his son, Marty Adams (Dena) of Decatur; daughter, Jennifer Adams Montoya (Jonathan) of Suwanee, Georgia; one brother, Rick Adams of Seymour, Tennessee; sisters, Gail Shell (Andy) and Teresa Adams, both of Hartselle; five grandchildren, Derrick and Sydney Adams of Decatur; Olivia Grace and Saltor Montoya of Suwanee, Georgia; Daisy Adams of Sparta, Tennessee.

Mr. Adams will be honored and remembered with a military graveside service on January 11th, 2013 at 1 p.m. at the Nashville National Cemetery, Nashville, Tennessee.

Memorial gifts in his honor may be made to The Wounded Warrior Project or The POW/MIA Organization.
