AGE: 88 • Claymont, DE
Eula Mae Pyle, age 88, of Claymont, DE, passed away on April 2, 2014 at Shipley Manor. Mrs. Pyle was a member of the Concord Baptist Church in North Wilmington. Along with her late husband, George H. Pyle Sr., she was active in the Delaware Chapter of the American Ex-Prisoners of War and enjoyed volunteering at the Veterans' Hospital in Elsmere. A native of Selma, NC, Eula moved to Delaware upon her marriage in 1945. She was one of seven children born to the late Burley F. Young and Sallie Earp Young. In addition to her husband, parents and siblings, Eula was preceded in death by her son, George H. Pyle Jr., and 3 grandchildren. She is survived by daughters, Barbara Miller of Claymont, Pat Saufley and her husband Joe of Wilmington, son, Ron Pyle and his wife Wendy of Townsend, daughter in law, Linda Pyle of Claymont, 7 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
A service will be held for friends and family at 11:00AM on Monday, April 7, 2014 in the Chapel at Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 N. Dupont Highway, New Castle, DE where friends may call from 10:30-11AM. Interment will follow. The family would like to express their thanks to the staff of Shipley Manor for the care and compassion on behalf of Mrs. Pyle.
