James F. Cooke
James F. Cooke, 84, passed away peacefully on March 7, 2013 in Wilmington, Delaware.
James served in the United States Navy as a communications specialist from 1947-1952. He later worked for Diamond State Telephone before retiring after 30 years of service. After retirement in 1984, he moved to Phoenix, Arizona where he owned and operated a locksmith company. He later moved back to Newark, Delaware in 2006.
James was preceded in death by his first wife, Alice Cooke in 1976, and his second wife, Frances Cooke in 2009. He is survived by his daughters, Pat Davis and her husband John, Barbie Goodman and her husband Clifford, Linda Christensen and her husband Randy, Mary Alice Tirado and her husband Ed, son, Thomas Cooke and his wife Barbie. He also is survived by 8 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be celebrated on Saturday, March 16 at 10:30 am at Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Rd., Pike Creek where family and friends may visit from 9:30 to 10:30 am. Burial will follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park, New Castle.

Hi to all.......I remember the "Good Old Days" when Jimmy & Alice and the little Cooke's used to come down to Dover many week-ends in the summer to go water-sking at Siver Lake for the grown-ups and the Lake for the kids.......Many moons ago but a great time was had by all............Sorry for your loss..............Love to all............Elizabeth........
