Age 83, of Wilmington, DE passed away on Wednesday, January 8, 2014.
Nick was born in Wilmington, DE the son of Mary (Mattie) Immediato Ferrera and Pasquale Ferrera. He attended St. Peter's School and Wilmington High School. Nick joined the navy after high school then joined Delmarva Power and Light retiring after 35 years of service. Nicks purpose in life was to make people smile and laugh. He was the head of Dunkin Donuts 1 pm. laugh gang, all retirees. He was not one to give up easily. The family would like to thank his great doctors, Dr David Sheid, Dr. Edward Goldenberg and Dr. Prius Taylor for their great giving and love.
Nick will be dearly missed by his wife, Eleanor (Micki) Ferrera, his son, Joe (Toni), his daughter, Lisa Childers (John) and his grandchildren, Gabrielle, Chrissy, Nicole, Ryan and Daniel.
A viewing will be held on Sunday, January 12 from 4-7 pm at the Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone, Rd. Pike Creek. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, January 13 at 10 am at St. John the Beloved Church, 907 Milltown Rd. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Compassionate Care Hospice, 405 Marsh Lane, Wilmington, DE 19804.

Mickie and family, so sorry to hear about the loss of Dominick. I remember all the fun miki and I had visiting you all on our summer vacations to Delaware. Love to all and your in my thoughts and prayers.

Dear Micki,
I am so sorry to hear about Nickie! I remember how much he would always make me laugh and the family still laughs about that day that we were over your house and he was trying to get a rise out of me and I ended up calling him a "jerk."
