Harold G. "Gunny" Fohl, Jr.
AGE: 64 • Wilmington
Gunny Fohl, Jr., passed away surrounded by his family on Friday, June 13, 2014.
He was born in Buffalo, NY and in his late teens he enlisted into the US Marine Corps where he served in the Vietnam War and retired after 22 years in 1988. Gunny then worked for J R Gettier and Associates as a security guard and a tactical director, retiring in 2013.
He is survived by his wife of 16 years, Carole; 6 children, Harold, III, Amy, Lisa, Ronnie, Steven and Suzanne(fiancée, Josh); 10 grandchildren, Marisa, Gage, Alyssa, Chloe, Kelsey, David, Amy, Aaliyaa, Kaitlyn and Kona; 1 great grandson, Bentley and a brother, David. Gunny is preceded in death by his 2 siblings, Sharon and Ronnie.
Carole and the family would like to express their deep appreciation to Gunny's devoted friend, Jason, for all of his care.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 21, at 2pm, at First Baptist Church of Delaware, 901 E Basin Rd, New Castle, DE 19720, where friends may call after 1pm. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Gunny's name to Helen Graham Cancer Center, 4701 Ogletown-Stanton Road, Newark, DE. 19713.

Dear Carol,
Kenny & I was so sorry to hear of the loss of your husband. Although we didn't know him we have watched your strength & perseverance through out the last year as you sat us at our table. We want to let you to know our Prayers and thoughts are with you & your family. Our prayer to you is, Numbers 6:24-26. May The Lord Bless you & keep you, May the Lord make His face shine upon you and be gracious to you. May The Lord lift up His countenance upon you and give you Peace. Gunny, I am going to miss you. I am so glad that i got the chance to see you on last week.Carole and family please if you need me for anything, you know I am there for you. you are family to me.Now we have someone else to watch over us.Suzie I Know it it is hard, but go on with your wedding, thats what Gunny ( your dad ) would of wanted.
