Beverly Welcher
Mrs. Beverly Welcher, known fondly as "Bunny," age 76, of Newark, DE, passed away on Wednesday, August 28, 2013.
Born in Bayonne, NJ, on October 26, 1936, Mrs. Welcher was the daughter of the late Thomas Sheppard and Sarah Edmonds Sheppard. She made her career with the Avon Corporation in Newark, DE, where she retired from the business processing department.
A loving wife, mother, and grandmother, Mrs. Welcher devoted her life to caring for her family. She enjoyed traveling, especially on fun family vacations to the beach or to Disneyworld. She was also an avid reader.
Her beloved husband and high school sweetheart, George K. "Ozzie" Welcher, passed away in 1997 after 38 wonderful years of blissful and devoted marriage. She is survived by her children, Michael G. Welcher (Janet) of Newark, DE, Susan M. Allen (Paul) of Newark, DE, and Ken Welcher (Kara) of Avondale, PA; brother, Robert Sheppard of NJ; sister, Patricia Richardson of NJ; grandchildren, Michael, PJ, Tamara, Brian, Jack, Abby, and Emily; and pet dog, Tinker Bell.
Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 12 noon on Saturday, August 31st, at Holy Family R.C. Church, E. Chestnut Hill and Gender Roads, Newark, DE, where visitation will begin at 11 am. A committal service will be held at 10 am on Tuesday, September 3rd, at Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE.

Sorry to hear of Beverly's passing. She was an avid reader and spent a lot of time at the Newark Library. I enjoyed talking to her when she came in throughout the years. Sincerely, Karen

Spent many fun enjoyable hours playing Canasta with Beverly, where did all that time go. Rest in peace Bev.

I only recently met your mother. She was a friend of my mother, Rebecca Brown, who also just passed away. Please accept my condolences. I hope you have many happy memories to help you get through this sad time. My thoughts and prayers are w/your family.
