Kermit Ray Brooks
Kermit Ray Brooks, 71, of Port Deposit, MD, passed away Sunday March 17, 2013 at Heartland Hospice House.
Born in West Jefferson, NC on April 20, 1941, Ray was the son of the late Thomas and Frances Church Brooks. He retired from General Motors in 1993 after 30 years of service. He enjoyed travelling, working on trucks and carpentry.
He is survived by two daughters, Tammy Pavolic and husband Victor of Elkton, MD, and Jessie Howett and her husband Michael of Bear, DE; three grandchildren, Michael Denver, Victoria Pavolic and Jacqueline Howett; a brother Wade Brooks and four sisters, Ethel Barker, Flora Woodie, Dempsey Phillips and Osalea Pennington. He was preceded in death by brothers Garney, Millard, John, Harley, James and Earl Brooks and a sister Inabell Roten.
A service honoring his life will be held at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., 111 S. Queen St., Rising Sun, MD 21911 on Friday March 22, at 5 pm. Friends and family may call at the funeral home beginning at 4 pm. Burial will be private at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association c/o the funeral home.
