Age 80, of New Castle, DE, passed on Monday, April 1, 2013. Born April 20 1932 in West Chester, PA, he was the son of the late Cornelius C. Thorpe and Violet Lee Thorpe.
For 19 years, he was employed by Lukens Steel and for three and a half years at the VA Hospital. During the Korean Conflict, he served in the U.S. Army.
He is survived by one daughter, Kathleen Byrd; four sons, Terry Reeves, Cornelius Thorpe Jr., James Reeves and Neal Jonathan Thorpe; nine grandchildren; three great grandchildren; three brothers, Ronald "Tony" Thorpe, Vance Thorpe Sr., Richard Thorpe; two sisters, Lola Chandler and Martha Holmes.
He is preceded in death by one brother, Raymond Thorpe.
Service will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, April 9, 2013 at Milestone Events, LLC of DeBaptiste Funeral Homes, Inc., 600 East Market, West Chester, PA. A viewing will be held from 9-11:00 AM prior to the service.
