Comolli, Ferdinand Mark  
Ferdinand Mark Comolli AGE: 92 • Bethany Beach Ferdinand "Ferd" Mark Comolli, age 92 of Bethany Beach, DE and formerly of Kennett Square, PA passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family at his home on Friday, May 27, 2016. Ferd, born in Nashua, NH, was the valedictorian of his high school class in Westerly, RI. He then graduated third in his class in Chemical Engineering from the University of Rhode Island. Ferd proudly enlisted on December 7, 1942, deferring until post-graduation. Pilot training included the Dover base, from which he often soared over the Atlantic Ocean coastline, including Bethany Beach. He flew 73 missions in his P-47D Thunderbolt with the 406th Fighter Squadron and is the recipient of the Distinguished Flying Cross for extraordinary bravery and leadership under enemy fire during WWII. Ferd retired from Dupont in 1983 as a Chemical Engineer Supervisor. He then opened a consulting firm called Avoid Impending Disasters (AID) designed for chemical and refinery companies, from which he retired at the age of 75. Ferd was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and a member of St. Ann Catholic Church. Until the time of his death, Ferd served as the treasurer of the Southern Sussex Rotary Club, where his expertise, attention to detail and wisdom remain highly valued. Ferd was deeply devoted to his wife of 65 years, Annetta (nee) Brady. His greatest joy was spending time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He taught his family to love the outdoors and to know they can achieve anything. His love, compassion, empathy and generosity will live on in all his family members. He was well-known in the area for his jewelry making and for being a generous man. He was a past scout leader and was proud to have his three sons achieve the rank of Eagle Scout while also mentoring other young men to Eagle Scout ranking throughout his life. He was preceded in death by his beloved Annetta in 2013; two daughters, Cathleen Marie and Patricia Ann Comolli; a brother, Alfred Comolli and a sister, Marion Rizzardini. He is survived by three sons, Mark (Diane) Comolli, John (Karen) Comolli, and Dave (Amy) Comolli; a daughter, MaryAnn O'Donnell and her husband Alan Currie; ten grandchildren; ten greatgrandchildren; a brother, Richard Comolli and many adoring nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held from 6-8 PM on Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at the Ocean View chapel of Melson Funeral Services, 38040 Muddy Neck Road, Ocean View, DE 19970. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday, June 1, 2016 at St. Ann Catholic Church, 691 Garfield Parkway, Bethany Beach, DE, 19930 where friends may call after 10 AM. Interment will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, June 2, 2016 at St. Patrick's Cemetery, 460 N. Union St., Kennett Square, PA 19348. She was born in Marion Heights, PA and was the daughter of the late John and Anna Kupchick. Gloria was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by her husband of 53 yrs., George J., Sr.; 2 sons, George J., Jr., (Karen) and Gregory R. Born in Patterson, NJ on August 2, 1935, Marilyn was a daughter of the late Joseph and Alice (Parmelee) Cahill. In addition to her parents, Marilyn was preceded in death by her sister-in-law, Corrine Cahill; and brother-in-law, Phil Evans. Emage Jacqueline Canada-Reaves "Jackie" AGE: 65 • Bear 1951-2016 Emage Jacqueline Canada-Reaves "Jackie" age 65 of Bear, DE, formerly of Chester Township, PA and Darby Township, PA departed this life on May 16, 2016 at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, PA. Jackie was born in Chatham, VA to the late Johnny Canada and Hilda C. Coleman Canada who survives her. Jackie graduated from Darby Township High School Class of 1969. Before her retirement, Jackie was employed as a county deputy for the county of New Castle, DE. She was the secretary-treasurer, AFL-CIO of Delaware. In addition to her father, Jackie was also predeceased by her brother, Carlos Canada. The beautiful memory of Jackie's wonderful life will always remain here in the hearts of her loving family: husband, Gary B. Reaves; daughters, Kimberly Maxwell (Dr. Michael), and Kacie Payne, mother Hilda C. Ruth Monica Feltz Cielewich AGE: 93 • Elizabethtown, PA "Rutie Kazootie" November 25, 1922 - May 6, 2016 Born in Medina, New York with Brothers Jack and Bernard, Ruth and her brothers were lovingly raised by her mother Laura (Holt) Feltz. After Graduation from Medina High School in 1940, she was employed by the HJ Heinz Company. She met and married the love of her life, Donald E Cielewich (42 years), also of Medina NY in 1947. She became a home maker and was mother to (2) Sons (Scott P Cielewich, and Donald E Cielewich Jr). Ruth was a devout Catholic and Volunteer for her various parishes. As a result of her husband Don's career and frequent promotions, they lived at various times in Medina NY, Batavia NY, Clarence NY, Williamsville NY, Wilmington DE, New Castle PA, and retired to Jupiter FL. Her final residence was at the Masonic Village in Elizabethtown, PA. Ruth was the mother of - Scott P Cielewich (Jamie Farage Cielewich) of Orlando Florida Donald E Cielewich (Linda Spada Cielewich) of Annapolis, MD. Ruth was the Grandmother of (4) Grandchildren Christopher M Cielewich of Millersville MD (Valerie Sharrer Cielewich) Jennifer Cielewich Velcio of San Diego CA (LTCDR Nathaniel Velcio) Scott P Cielewich of Buffalo NY Kathryn Cielewich Gentzke (Joshua Gentzke) San Francisco CA Ruth was the Great Grandmother of (4) Zachary Cielewich (7) Lucas Cielewich (5) of Millersville MD Vera Lynn (4) Gavin Velcio (2) of San Diego CA Ruth was dedicated to serving others and volunteered her time and talents to: Brothers of Mercy Home - Clarence, NY Habitat for Humanity - Wilmington, DE Habitat for Humanity - Jupiter, FL Ruth received a citation signed by President Barack Obama (2008 Call to Service Award - USA Freedom Corps) for her years of Volunteer Service. Ruth was also recognized in the Masonic Village Magazine and in a National Publication for her love of dogs and the joy/comfort that animals provide those in Adult Care Services. Ruth will be memorialized in a Ceremony of Catholic Mass followed by internment with her husband Donald E Cielewich where they will be reunited for eternity.
