Marie Adams AGE: 70 • Wilmington Marie Adams, age 70, of Wilmington, DE, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, May 22, 2015 surrounded by her loving family. Marie worked at Delaware Park for the past 15 years. She cherished family and especially enjoyed caring for her grandchildren. Marie enjoyed bowling, bingo, and quiet time enjoying a cup of coffee with her husband, and adored her Maltese named Bella. Marie also enjoyed camping, vacationing in the Smokey Mountains and visiting Georgia, where her daughter resides. Marie is survived by her husband of 49 years, Doyle Adams, Sr.; daughter, Lisa A. Powell (Spencer); the late Doyle Adams, Jr. (Alissa); brothers, Bob Saienni, Joe Saienni (Diane), Michael Saienni (Kathy), Gene Saienni (Debbie); sister, Rose Ann DiNatale (Aldo); 2 grandchildren, Shawn and Zachary; also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; Marie is also preceded in death by her parents, John and Connie Saienni; brothers, John "Skippy" Saienni, and Nick Saienni. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, May 28, 2015 from 9:30 to 11:00 in the Strano & Feeley Family Funeral Home, 635 Churchmans Rd., Newark DE 19702, followed by a service in celebration of Marie's life at 11:00 am. Blackwell, Samuel Adams "Sandy"  
Samuel Adams "Sandy" Blackwell AGE: 78 • Samuel Adams "Sandy" Blackwell passed away peacefully on Monday May 11th with family by his side. He was 78. He was born on August 23rd, 1936 in Cambridge, Maryland. He was the son of the late Jim and Adele Blackwell. Sandy spent his early childhood learning and loving the life of a Taylor's Island waterman from his uncle, Robert Shenton. Sandy is survived by his wife Sandra, daughter Suzanne, his son and daughter-in-law, David and Cindy, grandson Jack and his faithful sidekick Rocky. He is also survived by his brother Barry, his brother Jim and wife Shirley and their families. He was considered the "Leader of the Clan" to his many cousins and their families. Sandy leaves behind many wonderful friends. Sandy graduated Seaford High School in 1954, and earned degrees from Gettysburg College and Salisbury University. After college graduation, Sandy enlisted in the US Army, where he was assigned special projects at Picatinny Arsenal in Dover, New Jersey. He was honorably discharged in 1960. As a young professional Sandy enjoyed working sales for Barker Poultry, Ralston-Purina and Reuben H. Donnelly Corporation before finding his calling as a middle school teacher for the Seaford School District from where he retired in 1991. After retiring, Sandy continued to be involved in education and youth counseling as well as returning to sales for the World's Finest Chocolate Corporation. He again returned to teaching at Delaware Technical and Community College where he worked as an adjunct math instructor until 2010. Boy Scouts was a big part of Sandy's life. He was a counselor and waterfront director at Camp Rodney and achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. One of Sandy's greatest pleasures was his time spent on the water. He was very proud to have earned the title of Captain. A memorial service will be held at Cranston Funeral Home in Seaford DE, at 1 PM on Saturday May 23rd. The family will receive visitors beginning at 12 PM. Following the service, interment will be at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Seaford Delaware. A celebration of Sandy's life begins at 3PM. Blankenship, Nancy Louise Corrie  
Nancy Louise Corrie Blankenship AGE: 72 • Newark Nancy Louise Corrie Blankenship passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 17, 2015 at Brandywine Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. She was born in Wilmington, DE and was the daughter of the late Irene (Howell) and Walter Corrie and graduated from Conrad HS in 1960. Nancy was a secretary at the DuPont Experimental Station for 25 years and retired in 1993. She enjoyed skiing, bowling, summers at the beach, crossword puzzles and especially spending time with her grandchildren. Nancy is survived by her 2 children, David Blankenship of New Castle and Amy McCabe and her husband Rick of Middletown; 4 grandchildren, Rick, Jr., Thomas, Sean, Scarlett, all of Middletown; a niece Jennifer Blakeney and her husband Billy; a grand-nephew, Kailan all of Dagsboro; a nephew, Chris Wisniewski and his wife Lisa; 2 grand-nieces, Allie and Hanna of Palm Coast, Fl. Nancy's family would like to thank the staff at Foulk Manor South Nursing Home, Brandywine Nursing and Rehab and Compassionate Care Hospice for their constant care and devotion to Nancy. Robert "Bob" L. Castle, Jr. AGE: 76 • Bridgeville, DE Robert "Bob" L. Castle, Jr., age 76, of Bridgeville, DE, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, May 15, 2015. He was diagnosed with cancer a short time before his death. Bob was born in Baltimore, MD on Friday, May 20, 1938, son of the late Robert L. and Barbara (Beard) Castle. Bob graduated from Glen Burnie High School in Glen Burnie, MD. He proudly served four years in the U.S. Air Force where he received his pilot's license and flew privately. He worked and retired from United Airlines and later started his own business repairing lawn mowers in Pasadena, MD. In 2003, Bob and his family moved to Bridgeville, DE where he re-opened his business, Chelsea Lawn Mower. Bob loved his work, family, friends, neighbors and customers. Bob is survived by his wife, Ann Castle; a daughter, Robin Castle; a grandson, Ethan Castle all of Bridgeville, DE; a sister-in-law, Maxine Martin of Galax, VA; a nephew, Charles Martin and his wife Nancy of Wilkesboro, NC; a niece, Sharon Alexander and her husband Rodney of Hillsville, VA; a nephew, Terry Martin and his wife Sukie of Columbia, SC. The family wishes to thank Delaware Hospice, Dr. Romano and Dr. Mackler for their compassion and professionalism. Lois (Queen) Castro-Nichols AGE: 61 • Wilmington It is with great sadness family of Lois (Queen) Castro-Nichols announces her passing after a year long battle with cancer on Mother's Day, May 10, 2015 at the age of 61. Lois, a native of Charleston, SC was born in 1953 to Walter and Lucy Green and was the 6th of twelve children. She attended Wilmington High School and devoted her professional life to the insurance industry and entrepreneurship. Lois will be remembered by her loving daughter, Angelique Castro (Eric) and her husband, Junius Nichols, in addition to her lifelong friend and former partner Angel Manuel Castro. Lois is additionally survived by her eleven siblings who miss her greatly: Mary, Walter (Pat), Anna (James), Dewitt (Joanne), Michelle, Bobby (Brenda), Roddy, Larry (Sharon), Danny, Brenda (Larry), and Cindy, and dozens of nieces and nephews. Ciemania Sr., Francis J. "Uncle Fran"  
Francis J. Ciemania, Sr. "Uncle Fran" AGE: 91 • Wilmington Francis J. "Uncle Fran" Ciemania, Sr., 91 of Wilmington, DE peacefully passed away on Monday, May 18, 2015. Francis was born in Wilmington on July 23, 1923, son of the late Angelo and Josephine (Lorenzo) Ciemania. A proud veteran of the United States Army, he served our country during World War II and was stationed in the European Theatre. Francis was employed with WSFS for 25 years and was a dedicated crossing guard with New Castle County for 10 years. He was a member of St. Matthew Parish and the Rehoboth Beach VFW. Francis especially enjoyed being with his son and daughter-in-law at the beach and spending time on the water. Following the passing of his wife, Elizabeth (August) Ciemania in 1984, Francis became involved with Post Cana, Parents without Partners, Single Parents Association of Delaware and To Live Again (TLA). He will be lovingly remembered by his son, Francis J. Ciemania, Jr. and his wife, Judi. He is also survived by his sister, Dora West; and many nieces and nephews. Francis was predeceased by nine siblings. A graveside funeral service will be held in All Saints Cemetery, 6001 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington on Thursday, May 21 at 11:00AM.
